I want you to know whether you will enjoy my books and find them a safe space, so I’ve written a bit about what you can expect.
If you’re still unsure, please feel free to email me at hope[at]hopebennettauthor[dot]com to ask for a recommendation based on your preferences/things you want to avoid, or ask me to give some more detail about possible trigger warnings for specific books.
Trigger warnings
These are trigger warnings across all of my books and give you a general idea about what to expect.
Every book will have specific TWs in the Author’s Note at the front (you can see it in the ‘look inside’ function on Amazon).
- Cursing and swearing
- Explicit sex scenes
- Some books contain peril, action, bloodshed and MCs may be physically harmed
- Some MCs suffer psychological or physical abuse from their families or guardians
- Occasional homophobia or prejudice
Things I won’t write in my books:
- No cheating between MCs (and unlikely to be used as a backstory, either)
- No sexual assault, even as a backstory
Things you can expect from my books:
- Consent for all sexual acts (even in shifter and omegaverse stories)
- Body positivity and a range of body types
- A range of ages
- Found family (families, sports teams, groups, housemates or friends)
- Supportive people (depending on the story, either BFFs, friends, siblings, family, team mates, colleagues or clans)
- Honest conversations resolving issues
- Of course you can expect a HEA!
